Growing up my family moved around quite a bit for ministry so I'm very familiar with the feeling of being the new kid. I'm also familiar with the feeling of losing a parent, though thankfully I still have one living.
When I was in high school I was able to organize a National Day of Prayer in my school so I drew quite a bit of inspiration from that experience throughout the book regarding how people came together to support that in the school.
