I wanted to read this book because you are the daughter of the Sanibel Sunset Detective book author. I love those books. Your dad recommended your book so I put it on my wish list for Christmas. I was blown away! It grabbed me and even when I thought the story was over it was not. I wish I could have rated it higher than a 5. The best murder mystery I ever read! Thanks so much! When is the next book coming out?

Erin Ruddy Hi Shari, thank you so much. What a nice way to start a brand new year!! I'm currently working on Book #2, and hope to have it finished next month. Fingers crossed it will be available in early 2022. It's a fast-paced thriller, as well.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Erin Ruddy My advice is to write because you love it, and read whenever you can. If you have a story in your head that won't let you sleep, chances are you're on to something.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Erin Ruddy The best thing about being a writer is getting to lose yourself in other worlds filled with characters you've developed from thin air. That said, it can actually be quite daunting, knowing anything can happen and it's up to you to determine the fates of all these individuals you've come to know so intimately. I love thinking up exciting story lines, submerging myself in the minutiae of that world. But then typically I agonize over how it all will end.
