Great question, and all writers will eventually stumble upon the cursed writer's block. The easiest way for me to overcome it quickly is to refocus my energy. My #1 go-to is exercise. When I'm not trying so hard to make the story "happen" is when the characters come to life, and I can see the story unfold. I truly relish those moments when everything comes to life, and something magical is created from thin air.

We are finalizing the release date now, but looking like late January, and we'll be celebrating from early January through Valentine's day.

Gosh, I almost feel like we need an erotic writers' riff-off! Would that be f*cking hot, or what? We get a few male authors ... a few female authors ... everyone is anonymous until the votes are revealed?
Shyly I'll admit, I don't know. I have several characters I'm fleshing out in my mind, and more coming. Male. Female. Hetero. LGB-Q (no T yet). MM scenes coming. FF seduction in the works. I hope I can bring justice to all my beloved characters. Fill their spirits, emotions, & actions with a tangible presence that the reader can discover as they pry into their lives. Set the stage for connection. (And as an erotica author, I hope readers get hot in all the right places when they read my work!)
But if the throw down does happen, and you need a female erotica author to see if we can claim the title . . . I'm all in!

Three options for me:
1. Focus on marketing. Writing is a side hustle for me, and most writers who enjoy the princess pleasures of hot water and electricity. Time is precious. Promotion is a HUGE way to ensure others read your work.
2. Read. I try to pick up books on writing as well as books in my genre. I love learning new techniques, and watching how others spin a good tale.
3. Exercise. For me, it's the quickest way for me to clear my mind. During a long walk or a gym visit, the creative juices just start flowing. Characters are born. Scenes play out.

Absolutely everywhere. My S.O. (Mr. E.), reads my books, and recounts conversations we've had, places we've been, or things I've researched. I'm a technical writer and researcher by trade, so I love adding that element of reality and conversational spontaneity to the mix. PLUS, I love immortalizing people into my books. The beginnings of the series (Alex Drake) was inspired by the idea of mysterious attraction. If any of you all remember the beginning of the series "Hart to Hart," I loved that idea. Two people see each other, connect, and it lights their world on fire. Add money, mystery, and conspiracies, and I just thought it would make an exciting book and series.
