Find a writing conference near you, and sign up! It's the best way to learn about the industry, how to pitch a book, how to write a query letter, your publishing options, etc. You get to meet editors, publishers, agents, and other writers. You also get to take SO many fun workshops! It's the best way to learn and to network. If you're serious about becoming an author, you have to learn as much as you can about the craft of writing. AND I highly recommend reading recently published books in the genre you're writing in.

I get to live in my fantasy world! It's so fun playing every character and getting to create the world in my head so that other people can experience it too.

I tell myself I need to fill a certain word count or time quota (because a deadline is a deadline). If the writer's block is really bad, I'll do something like 30 minutes of writing, which really flies by! I always tell myself progress is progress, even if I've only written a paragraph for the day. :)

I would definitely go to Hogwarts! I'm a huge HP fan, and all the magic from that world is fantastic!
