I have read over 10,000 books in my lifetime, and yet I found myself without a reading list this past summer. I read hot romance in just about any sub-genre. My favorite is paranormal and scifi, but I also like military, cowboy, billionaire, historical, hmmm...I'm sure there's more....

I am constantly battling writer's block. This is partially why it takes me so long to write a book. I am trying to get better about it. I recently heard another author talking about not giving yourself such a hard time when you're not doing things the way 'other' big authors do them. Some authors can write steadily. Make a schedule. Stick to it. Great. I'm not one of those people. I am a procrastinator. I wait until the pressure is really high and then I write like mad. If we both make our deadlines, who is to say one way is better than the other?

Every writer is different, but for me the best part of being a writer is thinking up new worlds, new characters. I love plotting. I love hearing from readers when they really like something in particular in my book - that they connected to a character or situation.

My advice is easy to give and hard to do:
1. Don't quit! You can do this!!

4. Everyone has fantasies. EVERYONE. Don't be afraid to share yours. There is a REASON universal tropes are tropes! We all want to be loved. We all want to be chosen. We all want to be accepted. We all want to be seen as heroic, or taken out of our ordinary lives somehow. We all want. What do YOU want? Write a character who has some of your flaws and some of your strengths. In my very first book, Alien King Crashes the Wedding, the main character Sasha is shy and has to learn how to come out of her shell. I am shy. I hear all the time about Sasha from my readers. Some love her and some think she's too stupid to live. This is life. What can I say? Don't be afraid to write a character with real flaws. (Just not too many ;) )

I love the genres that I choose to write in. So, I think about books that I love. I'm like many people. I have fan-fic in my head. When I think about what I WISH would have happened, or how I wanted it to end a certain way, that gives me ideas for my own books.
