I'd like to travel to Kent Haruf's Holt. I'd share some coffee and conversation with the good people of that town.

If I need a little motivation, I'll crack open a book by one of my favorite authors. I keep this "emergency stack" on a shelf near my desk. Just a few lines of Kent Haruf, Annie Proulx, Rick Bass, Larry Brown, Marilynne Robinson, Ernest Hemingway, Richard Yates, or Michael Farris Smith is usually enough to get me going.
