Irina Georgescu I usually make a cup of coffee and start again. When I have such a rich source of inspiration like Romanian cuisine, it is hard to have writer's block. However, sometimes things get a little stale or overcomplicated. This for me is a sign that a need a new approach, so instead of amending, I start again from a different angle.
Irina Georgescu It is important to be able to collect the recipes of my country and tell people about them. Writing about them is a way of preserving them, even if I add a personal interpretation to some. To me, this is the best thing about being a writer: being able to share my country's delicious food with people that are eager to explore new territories.
Irina Georgescu Never take 'no' for a definite answer and don't get discouraged. Try again, try a new approach, do your research and write-write-write.
Irina Georgescu My inspiration comes first of all from my mother and grandmother, then by my city Bucharest, and the towns and villages of Romania. I am constantly searching for those traditions (urban or rural) that can speak about the beauty and uniqueness of Romania.
Irina Georgescu I want people to explore Romania through food and understand Romanians through their culinary traditions.
