Ann LaBar Hi! I’m so glad you asked. No, I’m not NVLD. BUT my oldest child (now 25) does have NVLD. It took a long time to get the right diagnosis. But I advocated and tried my best to understand and find the ways they learned best from pre-school on. I also had help from educational specialists and others with NVLD to make sure I got it right in my novel. Iris (my main character) struggles with a lot of the same social and emotional issues as my child did/does but Iris is her own person ( although fictional ). As I’m sure you know everyone, including those with NVLD, has their own personal quirks, gifts, and unique struggles. I hope you are doing well and finding your own coping skills. I’d love to hear about your passions and the things you do best, and your own personal journey if you’d like to share. You can email me if you’d like at ann@annlabar.com. My very best to you! I hope you read Prom Theory and enjoy it.
