The Mystery of the Moose! A couple of years ago, Amazon delivered a huge stuffed moose toy via Parcel Motel. No note, no message, no invoice, nothing. They were equally at a loss and said I could keep it, but the mystery of where it came from could go SO many ways in a book!

I either go away and work on something else, or I try to get *something* out, even if it's just a paragraph. Most of the time, that paragraph unblocks me (even if it's the worst paragraph I've ever written and I have to edit it out later). Even if it doesn't, well, there's a paragraph, and that's the start of a habit coming back.

Keep writing, and don't listen to the voice that says it's no good. Write it and fix it later. And just because something isn't amazing is no reason at all not to keep doing it! The more you do, the closer you are to amazing.

I already had the character of Lyssa running around from when I used to play on an RPG/writers' website - she needed a book of her own, so I built it around her. I'm not sure where exactly the story came from. In a dream, maybe!
