The Mystery of the Moose! A couple of years ago, Amazon delivered a huge stuffed moose toy via Parcel Motel. No note, no message, no invoice, nothing. They were equally at a loss and said I could keep it, but the mystery of where it came from could go SO many ways in a book!

I either go away and work on something else, or I try to get *something* out, even if it's just a paragraph. Most of the time, that paragraph unblocks me (even if it's the worst paragraph I've ever written and I have to edit it out later). Even if it doesn't, well, there's a paragraph, and that's the start of a habit coming back.

I already had the character of Lyssa running around from when I used to play on an RPG/writers' website - she needed a book of her own, so I built it around her. I'm not sure where exactly the story came from. In a dream, maybe!
