Aleson Alexander I actually don't have any specific plans. Mostly, I'm focused on writing. I do read and give feedback or write reviews if asked, so that's most of the reading that I'll be doing.
Aleson Alexander It had been a long, difficult day for Helena, and she didn't notice the dark-haired woman staring at her from behind the silvered glass, her baleful eyes full of malevolence. She turned to look at the mirror and ran her fingers through her raven locks before rubbing her bloodshot eyes.
Aleson Alexander I would travel to Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld, I would find Albert, and I'd have a cigarette with him. Oh, no, I don't smoke. I just figure that'd be the best way to get him talking, and maybe I could spend the night listening to him tell stories. Or throw Hersey's Kisses at Auditors. One of those two.
Aleson Alexander I don't deal with it. If I get stuck, I set it aside and work on a different story. Eventually, I'll have ideas about the other story and I can pick it up where I left off. Always have at least two dissimilar projects going at the same time.
Aleson Alexander Being able to share the things in my head with other people. It's nice to watch a movie by yourself, but watching that movie with someone else is so much better. Waiting to see if they get the jokes. Watching the expressions on their face and trying to guess where they are in the story. Knowing that you created an entire universe from your own mind. Few people can say that.
Aleson Alexander Get someone to read your work. Someone who's going to be honest and not just be nice to you. When the story's in your head and you look at it and see a movie playing in your mind's eye, you miss things, don't communicate them correctly, or assume that everyone sees the same mental movie that you do. Get someone to read it and tell you what doesn't make sense, what seems to have things left out, the places where you started to say one thing, then changed your mind mid-stream and didn't tidy up.

If this is what you love to do, don't give up. It doesn't matter if it seems like no one else in the world likes what you have to say, say it anyway. Don't stop saying it. It'll happen. Slowly, but it'll happen.
Aleson Alexander Oh, so many things. Let's see: Christine 3 (Christine: Pain), Cat's Tale 2 (tentatively, Cat's Tale: Baby Steps), Leslie, Date Night, Clothespins, ... a lot of projects. Mainly, it's just a matter of trying to prioritize so that I can actually get something cleaned up and published!
Aleson Alexander I've always had stories flowing in my head for as long as I can remember. At a particularly bad point in my life, I started writing them down. I never thought about them as a professional option. I lived my life and it ended up where it ended up, and, well, I'm not happy with that. BUT... a couple of people read my writing and told me that they loved it. So, there was that in the back of my mind. I put it out for a few more people to see. Some really liked it. Most were okay about it. So, I still didn't look at it as something professional. Then one day, I had a REALLY bad day at work, and I thought...screw this. I don't know if I can make it professionally, but I'm damn sure going to try. Here I am. :)
Aleson Alexander Well, Goodreads is about two books behind in terms of what I've gotten published. I tried the import feature, but it doesn't seem to work. Anyway, the latest is Cherie's Awakening. It started as a test scene that I wrote a long time ago just to see if I could write things in that genre. It was okay, so I put it on the back burner. Then, I was thinking about something that a friend shared with me (that had actually inspired me to write another story) while looking back through older things that I'd written and the two came together and suggested a different direction for that old scene. With that, ideas began to flow. It was fun to write and I hope people enjoy it!
