I have never had it. I can sit down and write anytime and anywhere. It’s not all good ...but occasionally something great comes to you and if you don’t write it down it passes you by.

Telling the truth! It’s one of the few professions where we are free to say anything and in the end we are judged solely on the content of our hearts.

Write! Write! Write! Everything that you believe in, every truth, every day!!! Then take your time in editing. Nothing comes as easy as you think. I can tell a story and write it down in a few minutes, but there are weeks when i will agonize over a single word or some turn of phrase.

I have written all of my life. I kept journals and wrote every day. They were a valuable resource and really fascinating to read years later, even for me.
I have had a long, very colorful and eventful life from California to New York City to Iran to South Africa during apartheid as a young ballet dancer and learned by living and observing.
I have told these stories of my life so often at parties and dinners and people always asked my to write them down ...so I spent in 2000 I started and for the next 18 years I wrote! First writing out those stories from my past, from my journals, then re-writing the book four more times, each time finding the threads of plot and discarding and honing, until I had the current book you see now.

It’s a bit more than a memoir, it truly is a portrait of a time that is all but lost to memory. New generations have re-written so much of the past, that I felt compelled to record at least one eye witness account.
It’s not a story told as many are in narration. I try to take the reader by the hand and they experience my life and times and discover with me the man I will become.
