Jasyn T. Turley I can answer this with a generality for all my books. When inspiration strikes, I collect a series of ideas. And when I feel like I've accumulated enough ideas I write them all down and organize them in a sequence that would make sense for a story. And from there, the characters, plot, etc. usually reveal themselves to me. In short, there not an equation that I generate stories from.
Jasyn T. Turley I can't manufacture "inspiration" and I certainly don't try to force it. It comes when it comes. Usually unexpected. But, as I've explained in previous questions, sit down to write and usually the inspiration will come gradually. But there are times when I'm going about my day and it just arrives and there are too many independence variables to try and quantify this.
Jasyn T. Turley This is a question that has many answers for me. I have many projects but there is one I give the most focus, my current next release. So, my next book obviously, but also short stories, novellas, the business end of things. The works.
Jasyn T. Turley I have two pieces of advice. The first is something I've already touched in another question. Show up and put in the work, blue-collar consistency. The second, is something I've learned the hard way; and that is the passion may dim but that doesn't mean it's gone. Think of a match, it's always brightest when struck. But the fire still burns. If you really love it, hold on even when the flame is weak.
Jasyn T. Turley Writing is fulfilling in its own right. I don't need to explain this while there are so many rhetorical answers to it. But I guess the few times I've been able to sit with other writers/would-be-aspiring writers and give them help and advice. Helping other people. That's rewarding.
Jasyn T. Turley Writers block. Aw, the err present antithesis of writers everywhere. For me, I find that the mundane act of sitting down to write is the hard part. But, once I get the ball rolling, the momentum builds, and the muse will come, and it just goes from there. Just show up and put in the work, don't wait for inspiration.
