Christopher J. Burke The inspiration comes from many places. Sometimes thoughts occur to me while I'm taking long walks around Brooklyn. If I can still remember those thoughts by the time I get home, I think that I might be onto something. Inspiration can come from things I've read online or even from other stories that I enjoyed even though they didn't go in a direction that I would've like it to have gone.

She countered with an anthology of my previous winning entries along with the two unprinted, if I wrote four or five more pieces. She suggested themes, of which I used a couple, but I also harvested themes from past competitions I hadn't won (or entered).
Christopher J. Burke I had a sanity check. It bounced.
Christopher J. Burke Taking old scenes, notes and drafts written over a number of years, and trying to turn some of them into something worth publishing
