Don't let the current state of affairs in the fiction market dissuade you. Business isn't good for publishers. They're less likely than ever to take a chance on a new writer. Indie publish if you have the skills to edit relentlessly and self-promote. It's a new world. Indie can be the smartest way to get yourself noticed.

This might not make me friends with people with writer's block, but I don't have a problem being inspired. I have a problem stopping. I wake up with stories running through my head. I run dialog in the shower. It's like I'm tuned in to channels of narrative. I have no idea where it comes from, but I try to keep up.

I heard stories from several friends that had submitted their DNA and discovered wild stuff...their dad wasn't their real dad, they had siblings they didn't know existed...mind-blowing revelations. It got me wondering about other forms of relationships that might be uncovered, and I imagined one for The Secret Strand.
