Dawn Gardner 1. Write. Sounds cliche, but JUST DO IT. My first novel was mostly written in the early morning hours before work.

2. No Doubt. Don’t let your mind tell you that work is bad. Your job is to create the work, not judge it.

3. Get into a writer’s group or have friends read as you produce the work. This helped me learn how readers experienced my story as I created it.
Dawn Gardner She sipped her coffee, thinking about the beautiful chapter she had written yesterday. She clicked on the novel file and the chapter she had written was gone, she forgot to hit save.
Dawn Gardner I am currently working on my second novel. This one is dedicated to my grandmother. It is going to be in the contemporary fiction genre. It will be published fall of 2020.
Dawn Gardner Usually I build a story or idea around one thing that I find, experience or learn. In my novelette Searching For Elvis (which I am getting ready to release in a few weeks), my friend and I flew to Florida to drive her mother home. She kept raving about this Elvis statue in a gift shop the whole trip. When I got back home from the trip, Searching For Elvis was born!
