I was a Naval Aviator and we told each other sea stories that helped us learn how to stay alive. I’ve been reading science fiction since childhood. Writing science fiction was just another way of telling stories. I began writing my first novel when I was doing a lot of commuting for work.

Take a writing course. There are some online courses for the time of pandemic. There will be in-person courses again. Write something every day.
