Personally, I have always loved writing and spent a big chunk of my childhood with my nose in a book! I think there is so much beauty in the world with many stories to tell and feel like there are endless possibilities of ways to communicate them.

Also know that your writing will never be perfect and that there will always be someone who doesn't like your work. You could be the most juiciest, sweetest, ripest peach in the world, but not everyone likes peaches! This is true with writing, too.

I love creating different worlds in my head. There is such a freedom in writing. What I think I love most is how you can have a plot so carefully planned out, yet the characters can sometimes take charge and take YOU on a different journey than the one you had mapped out. My novel NINE YEARS is a perfect example of that- I intended it to be one book but now has a sequel on the way!

I always encourage myself to get at least 200-500 words down a day. I think It's important to realise that your first draft is never your final draft. What you put down, on the best of days, will most likely be changed later.
