I know I answered this before. If I am in the middle of a project, I just re-read a few chapters. It allows me to edit while I am getting back into the book.
New books just come to me. I don't go looking for a story. If I have nothing to write, I don't force it. The story is better when it just flows.

I am in the middle of my second book. Volunteering Your Heart. I have also started my third book. It is hard to make my brain only advance one story at a time.

There are times I will dream part of my book. It isn't something I try to make happen. If i haven't written in a couple days, I'll re-read a chapter or two to get back into the story. I have found that when you're not thinking about it, life just happens.
