I have so many stories swirling in my head at all times that it isn't an issue for me. But all I have to do is look at a map of my fantasy world, Irikara, and ideas spring forth. It helps to have calmness in my life, too!

My most recent book is a collection of 14 paranormal humor/horror stories, entitled Around the Corner from Sanity. I have a bit of a twisted mind and a twisted sense of humor. Most of those stories came about because I noticed one thing that sent my mind into that twisted direction. For instance, my wife and I were trying to have a baby. All the fertility treatments and "schedules" somehow led my mind to think about asking for occult help. Thus was born the idea for the story "Devil Seed."

I can't say I've ever had writer's block, but sometimes it doesn't flow fast, or maybe what I'm writing doesn't seem to be on the right path. In those times, I switch to a different project for a while. But sometimes I'll take a break one evening now and then to read a book or watch a movie. Reading, I think, is particularly useful.

I have whole worlds in my head. I love to create and to lose myself in those worlds. It's therapeutic for me, as well as entertaining. And I love sharing it all.

I highly recommend writers join a writer's critique group. Honest feedback from my group, the Village Peeps, keeps my writing at top level. They always have good advice for me. Currently I have two works in process: A fun space opera sci fi, and an epic fantasy sequel to the one I'm querying now ("White Lands Dragon).
