Commit to it. Don't say you want to write a book. Write the book. Set aside time each day to write and stay with it. Writing is a marathon, not a sprint. It may take months or years, but the longest journey begins with one step. After a million or so steps, you'll have finished.

Writing is zen for me. It's catharsis. It's therapy. When I feel troubled, my characters experience that trouble. And it is through them I sort out any confusions, answer nagging questions and practice philosophy.
