I look around and start to observe the world around me. I sit at a different spot, such as under a tree or in the back yard to get a new perspective. I teach Writer's Workshop to my Kindergarten students and I love to see their thoughts and pictures on paper. It is so rewarding when they want to keep writing and ask if they can have more time to write. I can truly tell them that if they believe in themselves they can be writers too.

I was inspired to write about my father's life because I firmly believe that storytelling is a way to capture the hearts and souls of others. If we listen to the stories of others we learn and grow. As a teacher I love watching children learn and grow and this is also an inspiration to me as well.
