Chezdon Mitchell Hi Eric. With the outbreak of the Coronavirus, I am delaying the release of Bull Shark until the end of May. Innocence Waxing is still a work in progress but I am really hoping this year. I was expecting to have more time on my hands recently, but who would have thought? Thanks for asking and for reaching out :)
Chezdon Mitchell Two and a half years ago, I left Greenwich and I needed to fill a day with touristic activities before flying to France for two months. Whilst driving into Leeds Castle, I was listening to the news and thought that I could adapt a headline that was outrageous into Innocence Waning at the time. This plot has become a subplot which will drive the most significant twist in Innocence Waxing. It was apt timing too. I was stumped at the time as to how to finish Innocence Waning. It was certainly a light-bulb moment which will prove to be very confronting and controversial, which the reader has come to expect with my work.
Chezdon Mitchell Lots of coffee and cold weather. Winter in the UK makes for perfect conditions.
Chezdon Mitchell The follow-up to Innocence Waning, which is called Innocence Waxing. I am about 25k words into the draft as of 17/12/19. The problem is, I am enjoying writing it so much, I continue to add details and additional twists that are amusing to write. When I wrote Innocence Waning, the same thing happened which is why it turned into two books.
Chezdon Mitchell Develop a thick skin. Post your work on public writing sites and ask for feedback. Think of feedback like a beach. There will be something to take from one grain of sand.
Chezdon Mitchell Knowing that my words will be found bound once I am dead. It is too easy to produce digital waste and upload it to YouTube. Books are the medium which will transcend the rubbish that we are being bombarded with.
Chezdon Mitchell I have been known to take months away from writing to deal with it. I don't see writer's block as not just being able to type words, the words that I do write have to actually be good. I started to write the follow-up to Innocence Waning some time ago. I was never happy with the words. Time cured my block, I suppose, and now I am happily writing something that I now love once again.
Chezdon Mitchell Politics in the United Kindom for the last 3.5 years. Whether you agree with the voters or not, it has been a rea horror story.
Chezdon Mitchell The world created by Margaret Atwood in Oryx & Crake. I think it would be awesome.
Chezdon Mitchell There are many which I didn't get around to this summer because I was driving Europe for three months. My reading list at the moment includes:

The Testaments - Margaret Atwood (one of my favourite authors)
The Search for Richard III - Philippa Langley and Michael Jones
A Bone of Fact - David Walsh
The Body - Bill Bryson
1924, The Year That Made Hitler - Peter Ross Range

I suppose I should review them on Goodreads!
