This summer I'm planning to read the sequels to A Darker Shade of Magic by V .E.Schwab. I loved the first book and am very excited to explore more of that world. I'd also like to read Suzanne Collin's A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Legend by Marie Lu, and probably a few lighthearted contemporaries as well!

Secret Identities came to me over the course of roughly three years, although not all of my ideas take that long to develop! Initially, it started through my interest in the X-Men films and later it was my frustration with the direction that the MCU was moving. I wanted superhero stories that focused on their character and on how the thing they were going through would affect them. Especially as so many of pop culture's favourite superheroes are very young (my personal favourite, Peter Parker's Spider-Man is a perpetual teenager), I wanted to explore life as a young adult, which is already a trying time of figuring out your identity, through a superhero lens.
