Ron, I graduated BUD/S and exited the teams almost forty years ago (yes, I'm that young). I honestly believe what was the norm then is not the norm today. I suspect PR/politics of the day is attempting to change all that. Rather it is for the good and/or the bad is up to each individual to answer. (Sorry to answer so late, I've been out of town). I recall during life's tough moments while in my office, placing the empty guest chair right up next to my own chair. Real close. I then imagined God was right there next to me. Real-time. Close enough to place His arms around me. All-the-while Him speaking slowly just to me, but most confidently, (my name) it's going to be OK.

Honestly, waiting to see what my cancer says about the 'next.' If God has another adventure, like another book, for me in 2020, I'm all in. Whatever that may be. Already pumped! Bags are packed! One thing is for sure, I'm already thanking God in advance whatever is next...

This is a doozy! I failed seventh grade English. All to say, it was all Jesus. Not me. Truth be told, my first thought was not to even have my name on the cover of the book, but read somewhere it was necessary to avoid confusion. If I could, the author would be simply, but amazingly, 'His'. All to say, my true and only source of inspiration is Him. :)

I knew God's purpose for me graduating BUD/S (SEAL training) Class 89, business success, cancer and even death of a child was far greater than my own understanding. This book I hope is an inspiration and encouragement for all who not only are walking through a valley but looking down from the mountain tops as well. Although our purpose is important, its not nearly important as God's.
