The only way to learn how to write is by, first, reading everything you can get your hands on (both the good and the bad), and by writing every chance you get. Don't worry if it sucks. Everybody's writing sucks, at first. Keep doing it.

At the moment, I'm actively working on the forth and final installment of my Guardians of the Apocalypse saga, called Zombies of Infamy. My goal is to have the 1st draft complete by the end of Sunday, Nov 24th.

Stephen King has been asked over and over and over again, why he writes horror, or (more recently) why he keeps writing after all his success. His answer is "What makes you think I have a choice?" That's the way writing is to me. Ever since I learned to form more or less complete sentences, I've been putting pen to paper (or fingers to laptop) and telling stories. It's part of who I am.

It grew out of the fact that in all the military-oriented Zompoc books I'm aware of, if the Coast Guard is even mentioned, it's either as an afterthought, or as the butt of a joke. I know these people. I've served with them. A couple months ago, they had a guy jump onto the back of a drug-smuggling mini-sub and knock. No, I'm not making that up. Google it, and you'll see, why these are EXACTLY the kind of people I want watching my back during a zombie apocalypse.
