'Everything and Nothing' is my most recent book. As a result of discussions with a few friends, I wanted to write something that captured how one loses faith in the political system and a politician after believing in it strongly and idolizing the person. As I began building the plot keeping Mrs. Indira Gandhi in mind, I realized that while there are many stories written around partition of Punjab not much has been written around Bengal Partition. The book turned out to be a beautiful story that spreads from the mid 19th century to the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992 capturing the events during this period. It is a beautiful story of a woman, her pain, suffering and redemption against historical backdrop.

I am currently writing a story set in the 70s and 80s. It is largely about growing up in a small town during that time.

That it takes your mind completely away from the day to day mundane things. Ability to create something, and that something is so much yours. In fact I love the part when I create something after getting stuck in a plot or after that. And... finally a book with your name on the cover...

Fortunately, I haven't faced writer's block for long periods. I do face it between chapters and plots. Since I am normally busy with my corporate job, I don't fret much in such a situation. I am occupied with other things, and let the phase pass, knowing well that I will overcome it.
