Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Cali Mann I have always loved reading dark romance, having devoured my mother's gothic romance collection in my teens. But I also love all things paranormal including shifters and vampires. When I started thinking about writing an academy romance, I really wanted to make a magic system rooted in the natural world. Shifters who derive their power from the classical elements (air, fire, earth, water, and spirit) seemed perfect. Nature has so many wild and wonderful variations, so a reverse harem didn't seem out of place, and I had a blast writing the Thornbriar Academy series.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Cali Mann Getting to share my imaginary worlds with the reader. I have such fun thinking them up, and I hope they are just as fun to read!
