That's a difficult question! I'll have to say that I would visit the world from K.V. Wilson's Spirit's War trilogy. The rich worldbuilding and culture for the shapeshifters and the idea of connecting with nature through mythical spirits really appeals to me, and if I was there I would hopefully be able to shapeshift and go flying with some of the characters.

There was no specific idea that launched the plot of The Migax Cycle, but I can remember pondering on the difference between fantasy and science fiction and realizing there was a lot more overlap than people assume. This lead me to discover the genre of science fantasy, and to try writing a book that mixed futuristic technology with elements of magic such as invisibility and portals.

Being able to explore people so deeply, even if only fictional. The level of empathy used when writing is incredible, and the opportunity to immerse myself in different people and worlds, to learn about them and work through their issues, is a cathartic and rewarding experience. Writing is extraordinarily healing for me.

It's not even close to summer time, but books I plan to read soon include The Lunar Chronicles, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, and the Legacy of Orïsha series.

Write. A major reason why writers never end up publishing is because they don't get around to actually finishing their books. It's more fun to think about how your book will go than to actually sit down and do it (I'm guilty of this all the time), but if you don't make time to write your skills won't improve and you'll never finish a project. Don't worry if you don't think your book is publishing-worthy because every little thing you write is a form of practice. No one has to read what you've written if you don't want them to, so open up and write without fear.

Everything is a source of inspiration: books, shows, movies, music, funny conversations, interesting facts, history, etc. There are so many stories hidden in the world that the very idea of them makes me excited to write.

I am currently working on the second book in The Migax Cycle, and it will hopefully be released in 2020.

If I can't make the story work, I start collecting inspiration. Reading a book, watching a show or a movie, listening to music, or just letting my mind wander helps me get ideas. If worse comes to worse, I'll just start writing a different scene until I can go back to what I was stuck on.
