Writing for me has always been a release of tension and my own anxiety. If something happens, I like to find the humorous side of it. Writing allows me to do that.

If you enjoy writing, then write. Make sure you have someone help with editing. You will also need to find your audience. I spent a long time trying to decide if I was good enough to publish. I wanted numerous people to read my rough drafts and tell me what to do. I guess I needed that self assurance. Not everyone does. You must go down your own path, although be prepared for many obstacles in the way. You can choose how to proceed and why you want to.

I always got a big kick out of writing. For more years than I can remember, I would write emails or letters to friends and family about humorous antidotes from real experiences. Sometimes I will take a swipe at life and explode it into an almost exaggerated story. Occasionally, it might be cynical. Yet, usually it's funny.

UNIQUELY STELLA is inspired by my mother and sister. The lead character, Stella, is based from my mother's experiences. The Down Syndrome child is based on my sister, Donna. AND, Rosie is me!
