Dan Waters In the words of Actual Cannibal Shia LeBeouff: Just Do It. It took me until I was 30 to finally do it, but I honestly have enjoyed finally letting out the things I imagine down onto (digital) paper. I assure you, just writing feels good. Do it.
Dan Waters Read and watch things. Explore things outside of the "genre" you are writing in right now for a piece. Being a writer is also being a voracious reader, and I often think of "what would I have done differently?" with a scene I read.
Dan Waters I have seven books completed for a completely different series that is paranormal/shifter based. I am trying to do a traditional route of publishing for that one. This series, The Maldin Chronicles, I am halfway through the second book and expect a January/February 2020 release.
Dan Waters I actually have always written things. As a young kid I went to an after school creative program in my city for poor youth, and I wrote a lot of short stories and poems. As I got into college, I leaned towards photography and film as my artistic mediums but after years of academic writing, I wanted to rekindle that love of imagination and prose.
Dan Waters I got into Sci-Fi once again as an adult. As a child I grew up on Star Trek but never really felt I was a sci-fi fan, but someone who enjoyed characters and interactions more. Now, I decided to dabble into sci-fi as an area where I can fantasize about a world where anything is possible.
