Aurora Cold It grew out of a fevered dream of surviving some very hard stretches of my life, the kind all of us face sooner or later. The story began as an escape, became a refuge, and then turned into a search: a way to give pain the dignity it deserves. A wound with no purpose is only pain.

One moment in Where Steel Failed holds that seed. After a storm at sea, a knight of the East rides beside Seraph, watches him torment himself, and says, “There are those who suffer, and there are those who endure.” Seraph asks whether there’s a difference. “There is a difference.” Then nothing more, for hours. Seraph turns it over and over. I keep coming back to that silence, and to what the knight finally says.
Aurora Cold What Wrath Requires arrives December 1, 2026. The kingdoms are at war, and the warrior order is scattered. Sididi has escaped years of captivity, but stone shackles still bind her power, and to rebuild what remains she must bargain with the man who imprisoned her. His price is a king’s life.

If you’ve met Sididi in Where Steel Failed, you know she bargains well. In a harbor full of sunken ships, while Seraph sits on the pier counting wrecks, she comes back smelling of pitch and fish, with news of an old man who still has a boat. She didn’t ask the people who sell boats, she explains. She asked the ones who mend the nets.

Book Two asks far more of her, and of Seraph. Their paths will meet before a throne, and neither will be the person the other remembers.
