It was a complete accident. I was on my laptop one morning and had a half of an hour to kill, and on a whim opened a word document. I just started typing whatever came to mind, not even thinking about trying to write a book. The idea evolved throughout the day and eventually became Death by Midnight.

It can come in waves, and comes easiest when I'm starting something new, even if it's just the next chapter. Otherwise, I tend to have to force myself to start writing and then I can gain some momentum.

Keep reading and writing. It sounds cliché, but by reading more you can see what techniques other writers use, and you'll get better at writing the more you do it. Practice makes perfect.
