Craig Ford I normally walk away, do something different and inspiration will strike when you least expect it. I try not to get worked up or stressed about it, things work themselves out over time.
Craig Ford I have the Pittacus Lore - the lorien Legacies series. I am a big fan of the first few books but have purchased the full series and will be reading the whole series.
Craig Ford I think the best advice I can give you is this, If you have something you need to say or a story you need to tell just write it. Honestly you have nothing to lose but some time, if it never goes anywhere or you start it and writing really isn't for you, it's no big deal. You would have gained some personal insight which in my opinion is extremely valuable. So kick the imposter syndrome to the kerb and write what you need to.
Craig Ford I feel the best thing about being a writer is having the ability to share my experience and give some insight into my thoughts. If you had asked me about 5 years ago if I would write a book I probably would have laughed but honestly I think starting my writing journey is the best thing I have ever done.
Craig Ford I was having a conversation with a colleague about mentoring up and coming cyber security people. What we could do to help and the conversation made its way somehow to my cyber security articles I write for CSO Australia and Mandy said you should make those into a book, people love your articles and it would be great if you could write a book with all the ideas in one place that is written in the easy to read style that I do with these articles. I never let that thought go and "A Hacker, I Am" was brought to life.
Craig Ford I am currently working on a hacker fantasy book, it is based around the fantasy book idea that is chapter 50 of my first cybersecurity book "A Hacker I Am". The idea is around the journey and antics of a hacker chick, the journey from being a rough around the edges hacker teenager and how she becomes a secret hacker for the ASD. I am currently up to chapter 9 of the book with writing and the story is starting to really develop.
