I get my locations from places I have visited or wanted to visit (and therefore researched). My characters are composites created from people in my life and people that have been in my life. I've been a voracious reader for years, more so after finishing school. I read mystery, romance - contemporary and historical, science fiction, but I kept finding myself being drawn especially to fantasy and paranormal novels. Over time, I kept thinking up ideas for a town full of shifters in my head. The characters kept interrupting my dreams. The town sort of adapted into a mountain village after spending time in a similar town in New Hampshire with my family.
