I’ve decided to split my time a little! I’m editing up some romance work (both fantasy and a little more down-to-earth) but I’m also working on a YA fantasy retelling with all manner of chaos!

I think it’s not so much a mystery, but a really bizarre, random string of bad luck. I like to think it started because of a broken mirror and ended about 10 years later, but who else can say a horse hit their car and totaled it? Not too many people, I’d say.

There's a (not-so) old adage that goes a little something like "fake it, 'til you make it". A first draft isn't meant to be a ready-to-go masterpiece. It's alright if I take out whole pages in an edit. That's the point of the edit. But getting something, anything down is the most important first step. I come up with a fairly comprehensive list of scenes that need done and I skip to the one that sounds the most appealing at that point. Keeps me from getting bogged down, but it also means I make progress.

I think that life resembles art and this book was something that I'd promised myself I'd finish. I called this book my "thought experiment" for the longest time because I wanted to explore what a 20-something might experience on a daily basis that comes from a place of complete understanding.
