Christopher Badcock Anything can inspire me. I think the key to finding great ideas is to always be open to them. A word, a sound, an expression, we register these things and move on, but stick with it a few moments longer and it can quickly snowball into something much bigger.
Christopher Badcock My own past experiences with addiction. I remember how hard it was to kick my habits, the strange feelings i had and the parts of my myself i'd lost. I thought it might be interesting to write a story about those parts of a person actually manifesting and haunting them. Everything else was built around this idea.
Christopher Badcock The excitement that comes from hitting what feels like the limit of your imagination, only to then go beyond it and find something you never expected to.
Creating characters, giving them depth, knowing them like you know your best friend. A writer can never be truly lonely when they have their characters.
Christopher Badcock Time. Find it. Schedule it. Make a routine and stick to it.
Christopher Badcock She'd never dared to look. But there had always been something living under her bed.
Christopher Badcock This is a tough one. Most fictional worlds are perilous in some way, or under threat. If i had to choose somwehere though, it'd be the Shire in Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings). I'd smoke and get drunk with all the hobbits.
Christopher Badcock A lot of indie horror! There are some seriously talented indie writers out there, i'll be reading books by Spencer Hamilton, Nick Harper, Mona Kabbani, Michael Goodwin, DA Butcher, Michael Benavidez, Felix Dimaro and James Robert Wright.

I also plan on finally tackling Swan Song and The Bonfire of the Vanities.
Christopher Badcock A collection of short stories, the working title is Iniquities.
I have other ideas for novels on my backlog, these include:
A post-apocalyptic horror called Finale
A Vietnam war drama/horror called Tunnel Rat
A sci-fi horror called The Wishing Cave
Christopher Badcock Start a completely new idea, normally a short story. I find this gets me back into the swing of things and before long i'll find myself returning to the story i was initially struggling with.
Christopher Badcock Hi Betty, thanks for your question!

I love fantasy, the classics like Lord of the Rings, and anything by Terry Pratchett. I recently started From Blood and Ash, and i'm really enjoying that! A female protagonist in fantasy is new to me so i'm loving this new perspective on a journey which has mainly had male heroes.

I enjoy sci-fi too, anything by Arthur C Clarke, and the Red Dwarf books are very amusing! Michael Crichton also writes incredible sci-fi.

Any graphic novels by Garth Ennis.

My most highly recommended non-horror books are:
Of Mice and Men
Jurassic Park
Hotel Iris
Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption
Macbeth
Cloud Atlas
