Endreketta H. Summer of 2021 'Greenlights' Audio file, narrated by Matthew M. himself. So far so good.
Endreketta H. I don't limit myself to working on only one project/book/poem. I have multiple projects running concurrently and if I have difficulties or burn-out on one project, I switch over to work on something else to allow the creative process to flow in another direction.
Endreketta H. The best thing about being a writer is the freedom! The fact that I have no set hours, I can literally work from anywhere, write about what I think is important, and as a currently independent author, I don't have to answer to anyone for how I account for my time. I love that!
Endreketta H. Someone told me to write what I know when I first started writing. That thought gave me writer's block for several days as I stressed over whether I had anything meaningful to say that would be of interest to anyone else. So, instead, I would like to offer this advice. Don't worry about blasting out a final product from the moment you set pen to paper. Instead, allow yourself to explore ideas, and it is ok to be working on more than one idea or project at a time. Some will develop more quickly than others - but you have to trust yourself and your inner voice.
Endreketta H. At any one time, I have several ideas for books and poems that I write down for further development. Right now, I have 5-6 children's books in various stages of development. I also have 5 poetry collections under development. It generally takes me about 1 to 1-1/2 years to complete a book including the illustrations.
Endreketta H. Ideas come to me and in the process of writing them down, they develop, shift, and often redirect to paths that I had not initially thought of going. I guess that means I am a very undisciplined writer, but that is the fun and adventure of the process. I have no idea what the final outcome will be in the beginning.
Endreketta H. I get inspired by events, people, and places around me in my daily interactions. I also recall wonderfully rich memories and enjoy sharing with friends on my Facebook page, Endreketta's Place.
