I have been talking to a lot of youngsters and many were interested in literature and poetry, specifically Urdu poetry. I also realized that while they did not on their own completely understand it, they did appreciate an Urdu couplet when explained or translated.
So I decided to write a series of 8 books, on eight prominent Urdu poets, each one containing translations of popular ashaars (couplets).
Ghalib is the first in the series. Faiz is the next followed by 6 more poets.
