Shilah Ferr My advise is the piece of advise that I received, that really helped me, and I keep it in mind alway. It is that no book is everyone's cup of tea. Honestly, you can't please everyone, and if you try, you'll lose your story. I knew April's Heart was going to be controversial, but I kept telling myself to be brave and "just put it in there!" and not worry what someone may think of it.
Shilah Ferr I am currently on the early stages of a story about two people who grew up together, and as such spent their whole lives telling classmates and everyone that they are "just friends". As they get older their feelings for each other change, but because they've always insisted that they were just friends, neither believes or knows that the other's feelings have changed too.
Shilah Ferr Once I had the idea of rolling the my past relationships from back in the day into one character, (Mitch Hudgins) I was good to go and the story came flowing out!
