If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?

Zaakirah N. Muhammad Wakanda! I would explore the food, the culture, and history there, soak it all up.

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Zaakirah N. Muhammad I take breaks whenever necessary. I encourage you to take a break, whatever that means to you. To me that includes watching a funny or dramatic movie, traveling, exercising, reading or listening to music, other books, podcasts, magazine articles.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Zaakirah N. Muhammad I, just like everyone else, have a story to tell. The typical survival age of my childhood eye cancer is the age of five. The fact that I am still here, I know there are not many people who look like me, let alone many people with a story similar to mine. It has also been on my mom and I's heart to write it for a few years now.
