Such an interesting question!
Perhaps my fear of bear could be a fun plot for a novel. It's a complete mystery to me why I have this irrational fear. A part of me thinks I must have been attacked by a bear in a past life, or maybe I had a nightmare as a child. Regardless, I could create an interesting plot about a woman and a bear. How it begins or ends, I have no idea. However, it would be fun to weave a tale around this. Stay tuned!

This might not be the "best thing," but one of my favorite things about being a writer is that I can stay in my robe and slippers till mid-morning and still be "at work." Actually, the comfort factor may help my creativity!

My muscles have been pretty tight for many years. I would always attribute this to running. But then I wondered if my challenge to "bend" in yoga class had any correlation to my physical and emotion rigidness. If I lightened up my mind, might my body follow? This got me thinking.

A local author, Amy Impellizzeri, came to my book club meeting to discuss one of her novels. She shared that she was offering a writer's workshop for adults. At first I thought, "No way - I don't have the time to do this." But then I decided to take the class, thinking it would assist me with my part time job as an independent college admissions consultant. One thing led to another, and by the end of the workshop, I had started writing Learning to Bend.

I go for a run. Running helps open my mind to new possibilities. I think that being in nature also assists me in overcoming writer's block.
