I've just finished my new book, Spirit and the Wolfman. It will be available on July 21, 2020. You can preorder a copy at www.amazon.com/author/raeshellrozet.
Spirit Taylor is a writer who lives in a cabin in the woods. At the onset of the story, she's had a bad night. Her boyfriend of seven years has announced that he wants to date other women. Heartbroken, she takes a walk in the woods. From there, her life takes a strange twist.
Before long, she will learn that the world is fat with magic. Reality isn't always as it seems. People can be monsters. A story can change your life. And, a heart can be drawn to two men at the same time, even if one is a wolf.
Spirit will question everything. What is real? Is she in danger? Who can she trust? And perhaps, the most perplexing question of all, how can the hideous Wolfman in the forest be the most handsome man she's ever seen?

I haven’t experienced writer’s block yet. I read a passage out of The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron almost every day. It is a wonderful book about how to remove blocks to creativity. I also keep a journal for each new book. In the journal, I jot ideas. I talk to the characters and ask them questions. I’m often surprised by their answers. There are a lot of things that I write in the notebook that never make it into the story. It’ my place to experiment with different storylines and tangents. Then I will actually write out each chapter in the notebook before typing it on the computer. In the transfer from the journal to the computer the story changes yet again. Somehow, this process works for me, and I haven’t had a serious block yet.

My mornings begin with a large cup of tea and my journal. In my journal, I write whatever comes to mind. I create a dialogue with the deepest part of myself that is always trying to make sense out of my life. All of my stories are puzzles I’ve given to myself to figure out. It’s disguised a fiction, but really it’s me looking at the different pieces of my life from every angle. By arranging the pieces together into a prose, I gain a better understanding of the world within and around me.

Every writing I day, I begin by surrendering doubt. Doubt is the one thing that blocks my creativity. If you want to write a book, choose to believe in your dream for one day, and then the next day, do it again.

Dancing The Salsa is a fictional story inspired by my real life. I was forty, divorced, broke and back living in my hometown just like the main character, Scarlet Stevens. This story is about how I danced my way back to life after my world was turned upside down.
