Ginger Schenck While I do get writer's block the issue I have most often is too many ideas flooding into my head. I'm pulled in all directions with ideas for stories, novels, and inspirational books. So many ideas and so little time to write create a sense of limbo for me that is very similar to writer's block. I am scattered like dandelions petals. The greatest challenge for me is picking one idea, sticking with it, and finishing a writing project.
Ginger Schenck Find a story, a topic you are passionate about and just start writing. It will get hard at times but finish that first draft and then rewrite it! Don't try to force a story, find something that resonates with you.
Ginger Schenck My idea for The Birthing Tree came to me as I tried to fall asleep each night for about ten days. Finally, I decided I had to write the story that kept playing through my mind, It is based loosely on events that happened during my childhood on the haunted farm, folklore, and my imagination.
Ginger Schenck I'm currently working on my second novel, Dark Dealings which is a whole different series, different characters, different storyline, etc. I got the idea from something that actually happened to me. An online friend gifted me with dozens of decks of oracle and tarot decks. My children were a little leery and asked what I would do if they were cursed or came with some entity attached. This started me thinking about ...what if that happened and it slowly developed into a book idea.
