Dave Rearick My second book is actually a book that's been coming to me for about ten years now. It's an exploration of the metaphors of sailing and life. Of how sailing taught me to live. It''s title is "If I Could Teach You to Sail"

I also have three other books in the works. One is stories of sailing as known by the old green tea kettle on board the sailing boat Geronimo. Funny stories of 45 years of sailing.

Another is a book of my four wheeled friends. I've always had junk or very colorful character vehicles. The tales of trials and triumphs with these vehicles makes fun reading.

One other book that is quite interesting is quite a diversion from my normal writing. It's a fictional political thriller that a few of my early reader claim is not so fictional any more.
Dave Rearick inspiration usually arrives at unexpected times. Late at night, coming home from work or while sailing. Remembering it well enough to sit down and begin writing is the hard part. But, I just sit down and go at it. I write junk at first. Editing is a lengthy process for me because I'm a seat of the pants writer. It takes a few attempts before I get my work well enough to send to an editor for formal consideration.
Dave Rearick Sailing around the world is not done alone. While you are out there sailing alone, there are so many people who have encouraged you, mentored you and help you get to the point of living your dream. It was a natural extension of the experience to share the journey with you. I recognize that so many people will never get to float, thousands of miles away from shore under a canopy of stars so thick the constellations you've known all your life are hidden that I was charged with sharing that experience with you,, hence, the beginning of Spirit of a Dream.
