I got the idea for Mongol Moon, my debut novel, from several different places and experiences. First, I'm a huge fan of military thrillers, so there's that. I'm also intrigued with people saying the U.S. couldn't be invaded. Of course we can. Anything is possible. Now, in today's Internet and connected age, what would happen if all that went away suddenly? What if the enemy was already here and we didn't notice?
