I hate to be cliché, but just do it. There will always be an excuse as to why you don't have time. If you want to do it, there is a way. It may not be hours a day, it may only be minutes, but just put something on paper/screen everyday and pursue your dream passionately. Don't wait for the kids to get older, or the job to be less demanding, or your writing to get better. Do what you can, while you can, how you can.
