I wanted to create an ancient world where the characters related to the elements and animals. The Swan, from the far north, relates to air, and the Lion, from the middle eastern grasslands, relates to fire. The story is about star crossed lovers from very different lands and cultures and social standing.
In each successive book in the series the heroine is the daughter of the previous books couple, and she and her hero also relate to their title animals as well an element. Though the characters are generational, each book jumps several ages in time and cultures.
