Alan Carlton Sorry, I have been slow to reply. My excuse is a good one. I have been away on holidays.

Actually, I am really proud of the words which passed through my head. Everybody has a want. Everybody has a slightly different want. Whether we get what we want is another question.

Alan Carlton Everybody has a good story. The story of their life.
Alan Carlton I am one of those people who can't stop writing.

At the moment some of my writing is surfacing in a magazine, a newspaper, websites, blogs. Some remains in writing books in drawers of my desk.

I am starting to think: Is writing that finishes up in a book better?
What is the difference between my good and bad writing?
Is this answer good or bad?

Alan Carlton Valda,
Lovely question/email.
Five years ago, I woke up in hospital. I was told I had been unconscious for two weeks. My life had changed.
Writing the book was therapy. I enjoyed writing it and I know people who have read it and their comments have been positive.
A while ago I heard from the publisher. The publisher was a business run by a married couple. They were shutting down the business. One of them was very sick and the other one had be their carer.
My thoughts were. They are suffering worse than me. I will not complain about the future of my book.

Alan Carlton Tony,

I find that when I exchange emails with someone I actually communicate better than glib talking. Better exchange of ideas.
I also find when I write something I sometimes get no response.
I have really enjoyed trying to respond to your question.
I find that writing like other communication is never perfect.
Alan Carlton Blue Train from Cape Town to Pretoria. Unbelievably good service, staff and scenery. If you ever get an opportunity to ride the Blue Train then grab it.
Alan Carlton Writing a blog is like any other writing. A less than perfect form of communication.

A form of communication you can learn more about by doing. Go for it. Write a blog and unleash it. Let it float. Hopefully other people will look up, see it and say something about it.

It is full of drama, conflict and inspiring people triumphing over adversity.
Alan Carlton I am sorry for what you had to endure.
Alan Carlton I ran and wrote before and after my stroke.

What changed was the way I did everything. I had more empathy and compassion for other people. Seven weeks in hospital resulted in more empathy for sick and ill in-patients. I became a better person.

Is it necessary to suffer and feel pain in order to help people in pain and suffering?
What is the shortest way to get to heaven?

Alan Carlton I begin by living.
Living involves writing. I can't help it.
Some of this writing may eventually finish up published somewhere,

I don't begin by saying I want to be a famous writer. I need to write about something which people give lots of likes to.
Alan Carlton Life your life.

Aim for being fit and healthy. Aim for being physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially healthy.

Alan Carlton I can't answer.

Because I can't compare. I was born as someone who had to write.
