I really enjoy the creative side - I get to create characters and personalities and have an unlimited ability to tell all sorts of stories. I can make characters the life of the party or the best marksman in the US. It's all up to me.

When it comes to writer's block, rather than get frustrated and annoyed the words aren't flowing, I just put my book aside and do something else. Sometimes that's a week; sometimes it's a few days. Getting frustrated and forcing words won't make the story good (which means more editing or a greater potential for problematic writing). It's better to just wait for the words to come when they come.

I'm currently working on book 2 in the Abernathy series. The town socialite has been stabbed to death in her own home and Ali and her team are on the hunt for the killer.

It's probably going to sound cliche, but honestly it just popped in my head. I was at work and I had the opening scene of my book in my head. I mulled it over for a few days and started typing it out. And after that...it just spiraled into a 4 month process of finishing the book.
