A YA fantasy novel... 'cause that's never been done before (#sarcasm). It's set in a world that's inspired by the Faroe Islands and their timeless folklore, and it deals with the themes of trust, love, feeling out of place where we were born, and having dreams that are not understood by society and those around us.

There's no such thing as an 'aspiring writer'. You don't just 'become' a writer if/when you start writing for a living. You already ARE a writer, even if you're only writing during your lunch break (that used to be me when I worked as a waitress!). So my advice is: don't think of yourself as an 'aspiring' writer. You're a writer who is working as something else at the moment. And keep writing, even if it sounds cliche. Write, read, edit your work, and share it to get some feedback.
